I am Vinu Francis, a mechanical engineering graduate from University of Calicut, India, aiming for post graduate studies in the New Zealand. I foresee my self as a top class professional in the field of construction, which is my final goal. I wish to pursue a master’s degree in Construction Management at Auckland University of Technology.
It is after a good deal of self-assessment that I have decided to pursue post graduate studies in Construction Management. This decision followed naturally after considering my academic background, the areas of my interest, and my eventual professional ambition, which is to pursue a career in green construction, thus aiming to promote a sustainable environment.
I take this opportunity to describe my educational background so far. I completed my secondary education in the year 2003 and higher secondary education in the year 2005, scoring 85% and 80% marks respectively. I completed my undergraduate studies as a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering attaining 65% of marks. My undergraduate education has always motivated me to pursue a career in engineering management. Having great interest in engineering design, I along with a team of 3 other colleagues successfully carried out a project in piping engineering and design titled ‘Design and analysis of a steam pipeline network’ for a mineral treatment plant at FEDO (FACT Engineering and Design Organization), Kochi. The project constituted the applications of various engineering design as well as structural analysis softwares. Another main aspect of the project was time and cost analysis. The project has also helped me to gain an overview on the basics of civil engineering and management.
Apart from regular studies, arts, sports and games has always been my passion. I have participated in some regional level competitions and was also active in debates, seminars and group discussions, which helped me to prove myself. I love playing
