Statement of Purpose Vlsi
I am AAA, an applicant to the Masters program of your university. Towards the end of my undergraduate studies, I feel that I have gained enough experience and motivation to pursue graduate studies in Computer Engineering with specialization in Digital VLSI Design & Computer Architecture. A research career being my ultimate aim, I believe that graduate studies will help me in honing the knowledge and skills I have developed during my undergraduate years and enable me to fulfill my ambition of being in the forefront of research in my chosen field.
Computers and computing systems pervade nearly every aspect of modern life. Computer chips are enhancing systems that previously were completely mechanical or electromechanical. With the continuing cost reductions of digital hardware this trend can only accelerate. My goal is to work on solutions for existing challenges in terms of precision, speed and power both at the circuit and architectural level. My immediate degree objective is to pursue an MS. A PhD will be in keeping with my long term objective of carrying out research on specific problems faced by the industry in Digital VLSI & Computer architecture.
I have been a conscientious learner since my schooldays. My results secured me an admission in Electronics & Instrumentation Department of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, one of the top-ranked institutes of India. At BITS, I was put through a broad spectrum of courses. The elementary courses of the undergraduate curriculum gave me an understanding of the fundamentals of electronics. At the higher level, the core courses exposed me to the various theoretical and practical facets of electronics, communication and instrumentation among which Digital Electronics, Computer Organization and Microprocessor Programming emerged as my favorites. My aptitude for them motivated me to take up advanced courses on Computer Architecture and VLSI Design. In addition to reflecting my growing interest in

The Opium War did affect China’s economy. From Source B, I can infer that the Opium Wars made China richer. The source mentioned that the export of tea from China increased 42,000,000kg in 1855 from only 7,500,000kg in 1843, an increase of more than 500%. This showed that the trade increased. With more trade, there would be more money which were gained from the trades. Furthermore, more trade also means more jobs for the Chinese. Therefore, the Chinese will be able to earn more money and they can afford more items to live a better life. So, the Opium wars did affect the China’s economy. From what I have learnt, the treaty which China signed from the Opium Wars forced China to open up five ports to foreign trade (canton, shanghai, Foochow, Ningpo and Amoy). With more ports opened up,…

My pursuit of physical therapy as a profession comes from my interest in healing the human body. Originally inspired by my grandfather, it has been my profession of choice for as long as i can remember; From a young child observing my grandfather unable to be mobile without the use of a cane, to my teenage years when I learned about the dynamics of the human body, to even more recently, after the excision of an osteochondroma on my femur during my time spent in the care of a physical therapist. <---RUN ON SENTENCE, ADJUST IT These humbling experiences have helped solidify my passion for physical therapy.…

Do you believe feminism has helped or hurt today’s woman? Feminism was created to encourage equality between genders. It was created to benefit the women and make them equals to men; however that still has not happened. The feminist women were feared and disliked by many. Maybe this fear was needed in the people’s minds to keep the women safe. Their ideas have hurt the modern women in many ways instead of helping like it was planned.…

My under-graduate program in Electronics & Communication at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad covered various core topics namely VLSI Design, Electronic Devices & Circuits, Pulse & Digital Circuits, Microprocessors & Microcontrollers etc. This was in conjunction with the lab courses on Digital Signal Processing, Analog & Digital IC applications and Microprocessors & Microcontrollers. Furthermore, the work I did during the senior year in designing & simulating the analog and digital integrated circuits using Pspice and Xilinx ISE software provided me with a good overview of VLSI design, synthesis and implementation processes. The well thought-out course structure enabled the smooth transition between theoretical and practical courses and helped me score 72.54 % with distinction.…

I can still recall my entry to the world of engineering. Those days were fun-filled as the technical festival of our college was on. Being an amateur then, I was thrilled to see students maneuver powerful robots and stare at the computer screens for various programming events. Even glowing of an L.E.D. or the correct output of a trivial program would fascinate me. Three enriching years have flown by quickly. However, the zeal never sagged and continued to hike. Now, as I sit down to evaluate my future goals, I recollect one of my professors’ words-‘Engineering is an ocean of courses and the undergraduate study just introduces them to us’. Reflecting upon that thought, I am more than convinced that I want to pursue my Masters in computer science.…
