Stefan Sagmeister Research Paper
Stefan Sagmeister was born August 6, 1962 in Bregenz, Austria where he first started his career out as an artist. His career took its first steps at the age of 15 for an Austrian youth magazine. He decided that he wanted to follow art and typography and so Sagmeister decided to study graphic design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 1985. He stood there for a while and later recived a scholarship to Fulbright to study at the Pratt institution and moved down to New York. Later in 1991 he decided to move down to Hong Kong and take a job with Leo Burnett Hong Kong design group. It is said that he didn’t fall in love with the job and it wasn’t exactly what he had wanted but he did gain experience in a different field then what he is used to. In 1993 …show more content…
“Twenty-five years ago, as a student in NYC, I called him every week for half a year, and I got to know the M&Co receptionist really well. When he finally agreed to see me, it turned out I had a sketch in my portfolio rather similar in concept and execution to an idea M&Co was just working on. He rushed to show me the prototype out of fear I’d later say he stole it out of my portfolio. I was so flattered.” (Sagmeister Biography) That’s how Sagmeister kick started his career, meeting Kalman and showing him his work and having Kalman fell in love with his work just motivated Sagmeister to keep going with is work and keep working. Little did he even imagine that he would be hired by his most influential person in the world 5 years later. Unfortunately, Kalman moved to Rome to edit COLORS magazines and M&Co started going downhill so Sagmeister went on his own and started to specialize in covers for CD’s. Sagmeister claimed that he enjoyed sitting with his musical heroes and discussing what they want their Album cover to look like a lot more then he enjoyed meeting with a marketing

    Daniel Tammett is an extraordinary person in more ways than one. He has savant syndrome, which in itself is extremely rare. Savants have skills such as superior memory, lightening calculation, calendar calculating, musical ability, artistic ability, and/or language ability. Daniel has many of these. Daniel also has a “visual, emotional experience of numbers” (2) called synesthesia, which is also “a rare neurological mixing of the senses” (2), and on top of those two disorders, he also has Asperger’s syndrome. Having one of those can be so debilitating that it can be extremely hard to function in the world, but having three??
