He wrote at least ninety nine books. Sadly, in 1999 King was in a terrible accident. He was struck by a vehicle while he was outside walking. He was in serious pain, and suffered from many injuries. It affected his career as an author severely. His injuries became so bad that it slowed his writing pace, and could not write more than 40 minutes because of his hip. In 2002, he gave word that he was stepping down as an author (“Stephen King”).
Stephen King wrote a story but was not satisfied so he threw it away but he decided to keep writing because of his wife Tabitha insisting him to keep writing the book Carrie. He made $200,000, and then he decided to quit teaching (“Carrie by Stephen King”).

The book is about a religious teenage girl named Carrie White who lives with her mother that is extremely religious and abusive. She did not fit in at school, was bullied and mistreated by students mostly by a girl named Chris Hargensen. Carrie thought that she looked and acted normal, but then she started to develop telekinetic abilities as prom comes up.
