A developing writer should read this book because it teaches and provides you with a lot of advice for writing and for life in general. Stephen King, the author of On Writing, teaches you to cut out things that are not needed for the writing piece. A lot of developing writers need to learn this. Even though it shortens the length of the writing, it makes it better overall because you do not distract from the overall topic or idea. When you have to many different things happening the main point is hard to focus on. You need to get straight to the point to tell the story or emphasize the idea. and over again. Stephen King’s background and honesty can help any reader and aspiring or developing writer the truth that needs to be shown throughout the process. Stephen King went through a lot of hardships during his whole life that led to great pieces of writing and not so great ones, but in his book he always mentioned that he wouldn’t stop because one thing did not work the way he wanted it to work. He was always honest with himself when he wrote, but sometimes he seeked for help of people around him. At many times in his life, he looked for help and encouragement from his mother and his wife. When they noticed that something great could come from an idea, he stuck with it and made it great. The hardships and great moments created who he was and what his writing was. If he didn’t have the ability to be honest with himself and others, he would not be where he is today.
