Hidden Figures is an ennobling based on real events, story about three African-American woman who work as part of the team in NASA in the early 60’s. Katherine Johnson our lead played by Taraji P. Henson is a gifted mathematician and ‘Human computer” working as the first coloured woman in the Space Test Group. Our second main character, is Dorothy Vaughan, played by Octavia Spencer, is the leader of the “Coloured computers” , she fight for the title of supervisor as she deserves, but also fights to beat the mechanical computers. Last but not least our final main character, Mary Jackson played by Janelle Monae, she tries to overcome discriminatory policies to become NASA’S first female engineer. These three women meet challenges in their workplace as well as in their own home, trying to fight for their rights as African-American world wide. …show more content…
The film then fast forwards to 1961, where three professionally dressed woman are found on the side of a lonely highway in Virginia by a white cop. As he is surprised to find out that they work for NASA, he offers them to be escorted to their place of work. While at work, the woman are segregated from the white employees and are known as the "coloured computers" (They research mathematicians). As we are in the 1960's in Virginia, these woman not only needed to use their "coloured" water fountain, but they had their own separate bathroom. Sadly the discrimination doesn't stop
