A stereotype that I find to be very offensive is that all Muslims are terrorists as this idea subjects an entire group of innocent individuals to hate, exclusion and injustice. I have always found it appalling how people claim that Islam teaches Muslims to murder non-muslims as this is apparently written in the Sharia laws. Despite the fact that Islam actually pushes Muslims to establish peace and end violence. While the root word of Islam translates to peace, the Quran (our holy book) states that killing one person is as atrocious as killing all of mankind. These examples make it evident that even though Islam is inclined towards harmony among human beings, the lack of wisdom and acceptance of facts others possess causes them to wrongfully deem Muslims as the root cause of terrorism.
Even though the Syrian refugees are attempting to escape the Syrian Civil War, many powerful countries like France have barred them from entering, simply due to the fear of terrorism. On the other hand, countless Muslims face countless Islamophobic attacks from having their niqab pulled off to finding out that their local mosque has been burned for the same reason. The fact that harmless individuals are denied the right to live in peace and practice their beliefs makes it evident that the treatment of others towards Muslims is barbarous.
