Yes, many magazine-worthy women are beautiful, but are they as beautiful as we see? Firstly, in most pictures of women in magazines, their skin is always completely airbrushed, almost making them look like a barbie dolls. Dodge and burn tools have been used to create shading, and shadows have been enhanced throughout their bodies giving them that "thinner" look. The lighting has been drastically altered judging by the looks of their hair, skin, costume and background. You can easily notice the eyes have been re-colored as has the make-up, especially around their cheeks. Most of the time they are wearing lingerie which reveals that they are quite sexualised in their image and again, fall under the stereotype that women are objectified and used as sex toys in the media to appeal to male audiences.
