One definition of the American dream is to make good money, be successful, and live in luxury. An example of this definition would be the famous Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was a man who grew up as a normal child just like everyone else. He is living in luxury now because he founded Apple, the company. He also makes good money and is very successful which is the American Dream. He never thought when
he lived in a foster home that he would be living the dream when he was older. The American dream, in this point of view, is more realistic than what most people think of it as. This is the definition of the American Dream. Additionally, living with freedom and opportunities is a definition of the American dream. An example of this definition would be Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King’s American Dream was for black people and white people to be treated equally and get along. He defended African Americans’ freedom and opportunities to live the way they want to live. Martin Luther King made his American dream come true by standing up for what he thought was right. Freedom is the biggest part of the American Dream because without freedom people wouldn’t be able to live the way they want to live. Peoples American Dreams usually fantasize about having money and being wealthy, but without freedom people wouldn’t be able to gain wealth and money. In conclusion, the dreams of living in luxury, being successful and living in freedom are parts of the American Dream to live better than your parents did. The American dream is a fantasy that people desire. Lastly, this dream is something that all Americans thrive for and want.
