thinking of Stranger Things. Audiences have responded very well to this television show.
One of the reasons the show has been received so well is because of the build up to the release. The horizon of expectations played a key factor into this. The horizon of expectations is what readers assume out of a text before even receiving it. Before the release of the show, Netflix put out a lot of advertisement for it. I remember seeing a commercial for it months ago and really wanting to watch it because of how engaging the commercial was to me. All the advertisement made a lot of people excited to watch the show, which they were all thrilled to hear it had been renewed for a second
season. Stranger Things has created almost a cult following since it was released this past July, people have really gotten into the show and have been able to find themselves through watching the show. There are a lot of different interpretive communities forming around the show. They are finding these very relatable characters and latching onto them, finding many ways that the character can help them in life. For example, my friend is a huge fan of the character Eleven. She really enjoys how strong and brave Eleven is, and believes she can learn a lot from the telekinetic girl, she is part of an interpretive community that believes this way about Eleven. There are a lot of people who believe the same things about the other characters as well.
