Starting from the top of the organization and working down, each of the level of the organization will develop individual plans with goals that have measurable objectives that will work to achieve the overall organizational strategic
goal (Leadlow & Stephens 2018). The strategic plan is put in place by an organization and it is implemented by the organization and not by an individual. The group has invested hours creating the road map. Paula, Perera, & Peiro identified some common mistakes that are made when creating the strategic plan: not including the correct people, not concentrating on pertinent concerns, and not linking the strategic plan to available resources (2012). Currently, we have a post-transplant support group that meets once a month to share experiences and stories. However, I realized over the last month that we have a growing Spanish speaking population that have been interested in joining, however there is a hesitation in that they only speak Spanish. As a nurse leader, I would create a Spanish speaking post-transplant support group with an interpreter so that I could lead the group. Flyers would be in the transplant clinic as well as in their transplant binders. Diversity management has been implemented as a strategic process which includes promoting team member gratitude of various cultures and backgrounds and including patients, communities, vendors, suppliers, and others in diversity endeavors (BSWH, 2017). BSWH is devoted to improving the communities they serve and fostering healthier communities and reinforcing the lives in Texas. By creating this Spanish speaking support group, we leave “no one behind”.
