related to about 1.3% of all deaths in America (Centers), have such trouble and are looked down upon? There are many statistics that display these same results; however, guns are still dreaded for humans actions. Many members of society and government argue that the people of America want stricter gun laws, 55% of Americans at that (Social).
Although somewhat accurate information, many disagree and over 43% of Americans have a gun in their house or on their property (Social). Stricter laws on the sale of firearms may help the violence in America, but evidence shows that the guns used in 15% of mass shootings were bought legally and with a federal background check. In addition, at least eight gunmen, responsible of shootings, had criminal histories or documented mental health problems that did not prevent them from obtaining their firearms (Buchanan). As for the 55% who want stricter gun laws(Social), the results are taken from independent democrats, which are much against firearms. Although some Republicans and Independents are for stricter gun laws, 82% of democrats believe gun laws should be more strict (New). Besides, nearly all the politicians or other important figures of society either own a firearm or have guards in which carry
firearms. Although many government officials and much of society are breathing down gun owners and manufacturers backs, the facts are the evidence and answer to all questions involving stricter gun laws. Even as death in America has grown in the short run, guns have not been the main reason of these deaths. In addition, many guns used in mass shootings were bought legally with the federal background check. Both are problems that are clearly not the firearms faults. With so many firearms being manufactured and sold in America it would be nearly impossible to find the original owner. Although some disagree, Americans are facing the same problem, it is not the guns, it is the people! We must do more to teach gun safety and when selling take all things into account after the background check.
