The two lovers die by trying to stay together in the name of love. Their love for each other outweighs the dangers of death and they want to die together in order to stay together and be with one another and not care about the fight. At the end, the Friar says, “And if aught in this/miscarried by my fault/let my old life/Be sacrificed” (Act V, Scene iii, Lines 275-277). The Friar's love for Romeo and Juliet makes it so that he wishes to die for the mistake he makes instead of stirring up more trouble for the two houses. Also, the two families decide to join hands and not fight because of their love for their families. Montague says, “O brother Montague, give me thy hand/This is for my daughter’s jointure [with Romeo]” (Act V, Scene iii, Line 306-307). They stop fighting because both of the families realize Romeo and Juliet’s dedication to each other and how the two of them defied the houses for love. They decide not to let the feud go on any longer because of the sacrifices the two made to stay
