When someone dies people will blame it on different things. They might believe that someone died because of a disease, they died because of someone or something, or they died because of old age. But, in Romeo and Juliet, this is not the case. Some people will blame the lovers themselves because they both committed suicide. Others will try to place the blame on the Lord and Lady Capulet because they were forcing Juliet to marry Count Paris, but the hatred is evident even between Juliet and her father.
The hatred is so evident that everyone in the town knows about it. Once Prince Escalus had enough he says “If you ever disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit of peace.” (791) It does not take long before another fight breaks out Mercutio and Tybalt are killed. When Romeo falls in love with Juliet he must keep it a secret because of this hatred. Even when Romeo gets married to Juliet, he cannot tell anyone because he fears what the families will do. Though Romeo is now related to Tybalt he can not stop the hatred for Tybalt when Tybalt accidentally kills Mercutio. Later Romeo is correct with his assumption, Lady Capulet insists that Romeo is put to death saying, “Romeo slew Tybalt; Romeo must not live” (852). It takes the death of Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Tybalt, and Count Paris to finally bring the families
