The implant should not have been released without a high certainty of success. However, it is understandable that not all products could have accomplished what the Freiberg team did. Many products have issues that have not emerged during planning or production, however, the number of ongoing issues due to the implants indicated that there appeared to be a disconnection between planning and production. The product should have been tested numerous times before releasing it to the public, as this would have allowed them to fix production issues. The FDA, for example, issued three warning letters to the company and it appears that they did not have the sense of urgency to fix the problems. Stryker would now have to uncover the specific issues of the prototype and implement a strategy to improve its overall functioning. Moreover, they need to ensure that they have solved all issues with the implant prior to releasing a new prototype.
In conclusion, the real success of the Freiberg team appeared to be their cohesiveness in working together in addition to each person's specific ability to meet and attain their goal. Consequently, the Freiberg team ensured that they created a successful product by addressing and prioritizing each issue.
