During the years of adolescence, all the decisions for teens are being made by their parents, even when the teens are growing and becoming mature. Parents should let teens make their own decisions, doing that, teens can become more independent, improve form mistakes, and form their own personalities.
First and foremost, making their own decisions can give teenagers necessary experience, which is indispensable for living alone. According to the educational psychologists, the decisions made by teenager themselves is directly related to social development, it is helpful to build up their social experiences and emotional intelligence, such as self-awareness, self-motivation, social skills. These skills can be learned from the process of making their decisions. A boy called Li Ming, who is seventeen years old, fortuitously won a large number of money in lottery. However, his parents did not want him to put the money in the bank account. They ultimately decided to let Li to make his own decision how to spend it. So Li choose to buy a stock, half of year later, the stock rise tripled. It was the right decision, which Li did by himself. He becomes a mature independent man and strengthens more confidence in his future life. Consequently, Li becomes more competitive in the society.
Secondly, teenagers need to make their own mistakes. It is only learning from past mistakes that can teens improve themselves. No one can avoid mistakes in the world, and no one can deny that only when making mistakes can teenagers experience the emotions of regret and it is these emotions that they learn to avoid, and will be advanced by not making the same mistakes.
