While you are a freshman you are forced to take many classes: American History, ELA I or Honors ELA I, Physical Science, and Algebra I, or Honors Algebra I and/or Geometry if you had taken Algebra one this year. Nevertheless, you still get a choice of half of your classes as a freshman, and almost all for years to come. One thing that should be taken as a freshman is PE, as 1 credit is required to graduate. A lot of people also have a co-curricular that they do as well, like band, choir, or debate that is basically required as well. While it may seem that you really only get one choice freshman year, it gets much better as time progresses. For this reasons, I feel that these are things that the current eighth grade class should be made aware of.
