Student Senate Research Paper
Why would you like to be a part of Student Senate?

I would like to be a part of Student Senate for the second semester because I believe I can help voice my opinon to make GV an even better place. Over these past three months, I’ve gotten to know a large part of the GV community through various clubs such as Running Club and Intervarsity, First Year Leadership Experience, and being involved with the activities held at my living center, Holton-Hooker. I’ve gotten to know so many brilliant people and being able work with them on a committee would be amazing.

What credentials, skills, traits, would you bring to Student Senate?

The best skills that I would bring to Student Senate is my ability to work with a team, my work ethic, and interpersonal skills. In high school, I was the president and founder of a club based on leadership, service, and mentorship. Also, I was the President of the Michigan Youth Leadership Achievement Program Executive Board. Both of these positions gave me much confidence to be a leader in all situations and have an outstanding work ethic. I am currently in the Honors College here at GV and it already has been an excellent experience within itself. It has connected me with some pretty amazing people and

As mentioned before, I founded my own club in high school. This club entitled ‘Shamrock Lead’ held monthly service projects. weekly leadership discussions, and a freshmen mentor program. This club led me to do great things in high school and into here at Grand Valley State. Also, I was the Captain of the Cross Country and Track team and served on a variety of committees in student council. Here at GV, I am in the process of helping establish a Camp Kesum chapter for the summer of 2018 and have plans to rush a fraternity next fall once I am acquainted with all that this wonderful school has to offer.
