Junior Year Research Paper
Over the years I have heard that junior year was going to be the hardest year of your life; it's the year that you have to prove to colleges that you are worthy. Junior year is important because it's the last full year that colleges get to see. It is very important to get your goals set and ready to go so you don’t get overwhelmed with what you want to do later in life.
For my first goal I would like to keep my grades up. This is very important because it would help me get into my ideal college. What I have done so far is handing in all my homework and projects. I need to make a habit of studying and giving a hundred percent on my work; yes, I am doing my work but I am not always sure if it's done correctly, which could affect my performance on my tests. I have plenty of support from my friends because they are going through the same thing as I am, they have homework and tests just like me so they understand what I am going through.
Going to college is what i'm mostly looking forward to when high school is over. When I go to college I would like to go to a four year that fits my budget. Finding the right school will help me be ready for my future. So far I have got a good paying job that helps me pay for college. What

When I grow up I want to become a physical therapist; I have wanted this job for a five years now. My mom was a PTA when I was very young and I remember visiting her at the hospital and playing with all the equipment. I remember how fun it was seeing what she did everyday and knowing that she's helping someone that needed her. My mom has taught me how to fix knots in people's shoulders and how to massage my dad's feet ( to be honest, I think she just didn't want to touch his feet). Though I have learned so much, I still have a long way to go. My parents have fully supported me thru my college plans of becoming a physical

One of the biggest fears of college students is gaining an excessive amount of weight. As most UMass students know, the school’s dining commons are currently ranked second in the United States by the Princeton Review. When I began attending school, the term “Freshman 15” was a common term that was often spoken about amongst my friends. The term “Freshman 15” refers to the amount of weight which is expected to be gained in the first year of college because of the easy access of food. I always looked at the “Freshman 15” as a myth before college. I wanted to learn more about UMass Amherst’s food. I wondered if it could be possible that UMass could be ranked as having one of the best dinning commons in the country and also have healthy…

Last fall our school board decided to make it mandatory for students to attend school year-round. There were many issues to look at before making this decision. I feel that year round school can both benefit and hurt children. There are many issues that people are for and against for year round schooling. What will happen to kids who have summer jobs or even part time jobs? Employers look for kids who are willing to work during the summer months when there are more activities going on in our community. During the school year students can only work part time and during the summer they are able to work more hours. When school is out during the winter months, things are slower, so business is slow. When this happens, it decreases will decrease…

The freshman 15 is a real thing and for adolescents heading off to college, they should make sure to be cautious of their eating habits. With 142 million Americans being obese, it has become more of a problem with people of all ages, but college freshman have a history of gaining weight when they arrive at school. People speculate that the behavioral, environmental, and occupational changes cause this, along with stress, exercise habits, and the fact that food is available at all times. No matter what the cause is, gaining weight in college is a real problem.…

Many senior students getting ready for college need to be preparing to face problems as a college freshman. My suggestion to many students are to really know what career you want to study for, also where and how are you going to eat, and finally are you going to a community college or 4 year college.…

This year, I would like to bring my grades from B’s and C’s to A’s and B’s. In order to achieve this goal, I will pay attention in class instead of talking to my friends. This is important so that I do not miss anything that the teacher says in class. In addition to paying attention in class, I can also begin studying every night and make sure that my homework is completed before class. This will help me to improve my grades because I will not have to cram for a test or try to finish my homework right before it is due. Achieving this goal is important to me because last year, I did not put forth the effort to make the good grades that I am capable of making. I need better grades in order to be accepted into the college that I would like to attend, Boston University. Achieving this goal would make me feel that I can do anything if I work hard for it.…

This varies from basic reading skills to AP Chemistry. I believe that improving my grades will benefit my chances of getting accepted into college. While college is not a part of everyone’s plan, it is a part of mine. I believe improving my grades will increase my chances to have a very successful future. I think that high school might be sort of scary for me, because it will be very different from middle school in most ways, and only somewhat the same. I know that I will have to take different classes and that I will have lunch with all of the other grades, and in tenth grade I can start going off campus for lunch. The amount of work tends to be the same, according to my high school friends. There is another difference, which is there is no recess. There are only seven classes, and then seminar, which is the same as middle school. The campus is also really different, due to the fact that there are separate buildings, unlike the middle school, where everything was in one building. Lastly, in high school, there is more people I don’t know who are in…

My academic goal is improving my grades. I don’t have any D’s or F’s but i do have one C which I’m trying really hard to pick it up to an A, but at least a B. I want to improve my grades because I want to have a good report on my report card and it will help me in the future to get a test. I will improve my grades by studying more. The night before a test I will study before going to bed so I can remember everything faster and better. The second thing I will do is retake tests if I get lower than a 5-8. Last thing I can try to do is pay attention more in general and ask questions when I don’t understand something.…

The biggest reason why my senior year was important, is because I was the first on my moms side of the family to finish high school and graduate. Most of them did go back and earned their GED, but I was the first to earn a high school diploma. This made me feel like I have accomplished something in my life. A lot of people doubted me and told me I would not make it, but I kept telling myself that I could make it. I pushed myself everyday until I graduated.…

While students prepare for their grade 12 year they all must go through the process of choosing the correct courses required to get into the program of their desire. It is known that ENG4U is a necessity when it comes to course selection for those applying to university. For some individuals such as myself, this may be seen as an irritating task that we do not excel in and/or ‘need’ for the post secondary education plan we have in mind for ourselves. Even so, I do agree that grade 12 university English be a requirement for all university programs although it may not directly correlate to the program we wish to be a part of.…
