Public housing was being taken away for many citizens in Philadelphia and ten-thousands of families were forced to move from their homes. The relocation of families negatively affected the social ties that were present between their community. Being neighborly is not a characteristic that could be carried into the new community because it was an unfamiliar environment. The advice that is presented in the “Succeed in new situations” article is general information that all college students and business professionals should be reminded of. When it becomes my time to step into the business world, I will have to adapt quickly to the new workforce environment.
