Suicidal Love The tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet captivated the eyes of many people. Shakespeare wrote about the untimely deaths of two teens whose reckless choices caused their sudden death/ Many people argue and say their deaths were due to fate, but could’ve easily been avoided if they had made suitable choices. Fate played a big part in the death of Romeo and Juliet. With the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets, it was almost an impossible love. Given the circumstances, it was up to fate to bring them together. Fate is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet because of the perfect timing of the series of unfortunate events that occurred, like them meeting up at the Capulet’s party, and when Friar Lawrence’s plan is ruined when Friar John can’t deliver the message to Romeo; and when they meet up again at her balcony. At the Capulet’s party, Romeo just so happens to attend to try and get his mind off of the things that had gone bad between him and his previous lover, Rosaline. It was a stroke of luck
It is almost as if Balthasar caused the tragedy because if he wouldn’t have told Romeo that Juliet was dead then he wouldn’t of drank the poison and she wouldn’t of stabbed herself. He says, “Her body sleeps in Capel’s monument, and her immortal part with angels lives” (5.1. 19-20). It was honestly just a mistake on Balthasar’s part, but fate had wanted it to happen that way, so nothing got in the way of it. Romeo and Juliet’s tragic death was due to fate. The circumstances with their families and their feelings caused them to do the unthinkable. True love is never as easy as one hopes and especially when your love is forbidden.
