Nicotine is a toxic colorless or yellowish oily liquid , which is the chief active constituent of tobacco. It also acts as a stimulant in small doses , but in larger amounts it blocks the autonomic nerve and skeletal muscle cells. The autonomic nerve is the part of the nervous system responsible for control of the bodily functions not consciously directed, such as breathing, the heartbeat, and digestive processes.

Overall you should rethink what you do, just like you think before you speak think before you smoke. Theres many things at play when you decide to pick up a cigarette, when you decide to not join in with the crowd, when you decided what your next move would be and that your life. It may not be easy but living is like playing chess and you need to attempt to make the correct move or you'll lose to an insignificant addiction that could possibly cause you your life or the life of the ones around you. Now this leads me to the next question, are children more prone to becoming addicted to nicotine? This would be a definite yes. It has been proved that those who start smoking before the legal age are to have a more difficult time trying to quit the habit or addiction when they attempt it. Most people don't even realize that they have become addicted to Nicotine one because they aren't aware of the substance and they only think they're smoking tobacco( yet nicotine is the chief active constituent of tobacco) and two they aren't aware of what nicotine is and the effects is has on them a as an individual and how it'll affect their surrounding. You will be affected in that when you begin smoking the nicotine enters the bloodstream rather quickly and reaches the brain which causes a feeling of excitement and happiness but it quickly goes away and makes you crave the sensation once again therefore leading you to go back and take another puff or light another cigarette.
