It is imperative to understand that one’s genetic makeup is the hereditary traits passed down from family generation and although it can be altered it is innate to each individual. Hereditary traits can play a role in the child’s development and could be altered by environmental influences. It is believed both nature and nurture play a tremendous part in the development of children. Both the genetic traits, environmental experiences and influences set the basis of who we are as individuals.
