The mood is the way the reader feels throughout a story. My book poster shows the mood of Parallel Journeys effectively because I included many facial expressions representing the feeling and emotions felt during that time. The man on the left side represents the German guards, “Then suddenly- for the Germans shouted all orders loudly and suddenly- the women were ordered to stand in a line” (Ayer, 125). The guards face in my book poster is showing anger and force towards the Jews, the Germans voice was powerful, and their demands were to be followed at all times. Jews were significantly impacted, feeling all sorts of emotions such as anger, fear, and disgust. The women I drew on the left represents Helen. She has a small tear in her eye because she was scared, sad and worried about her family, friends and her fate. “…I got very upset because nobody would believe my story” (Ayer, 125) My final element I included on my book poster was Alfons face on the right. “I cried silently at times, and I prayed, and I went through a rage of self-pity” (Ayer, 183). After the war was over Alfons was extremely upset, he felt betrayed and blinded to what was actually
