Summary Of Blue Bloods By Melissa De La Cruz
The book, Blue Bloods is written by Melissa De La Cruz. As a reader, I would rate this book four stars. The title and summary of the book can catch curiosity of the reader. How the Author describes everything in each word and putting it in detail is perfect. There were some confusion since each chapter takes a different person’s life form, but other than that it was a great book. The book is about a girl who soon finds out that she is a vampire by going to a meeting. While time passes by fast, she also finds out that there are enemies that are killing her kind, but with the evidence that she receives, her and her friends find a way to see what they are and how to kill them.

This book takes place in present time in Manhattan,New York, but

In the book Blue like Jazz there is a couple of conversion stories I would like to talk about. The first one comes from Chapter 4. It is the conversion of Millers friend Penny. Penny was a person who did not like Christians and Christianity based on the stereotypes that she had seen and the world has given to them. In the chapter it says that Penny wanted nothing to do with Christianity until she met a friend from her school. She went to college at the same place as miller, which is reed college, and after her freshman year she decided to study at a school in france. While there she was introduced to another student from Reed who she was very fond of and her…

Leah and Suzy weren’t close in the beginning. They didn’t understand each other so they didn’t really feel like they should be close or even talk unless they were working on Leah’s English.…

The book that I am reading is called True Colours, by Lucy Lemay Cellucci who is a great author. So far along the book the book I find that the plot of the book is developing well and that the all the details are going being stated clearly and entertainingly. I find that this book is an easy read since there are not many words that I do not understand and that I understand the main theme of the book in the first half. The main theme of the book is animal curtly or animal abusement in general and the book also touches on how animals are being abused in third world countries like India, China, Pakistan, and many others as well. This book tells the reader how in Canada many children care about animals and are willing to help find a way to keep…

Stolen By Night by Steve Watkins. The main character in this book is Nicollette, a 14-year-old girl who aspires to follow in her father's footsteps and become a bicycle racer. Stolen By Night is a secondary source. I know this due to the book being described as 'historical fiction' which indicates that this book is not a real story, but is based on real historical events. The author is also a man who tells me he is not Nicolette.…

Karyn Lacy’s ethnography, Blue-Chip Black: Race, Class, and Status in the New Black Middle Class, aims to reveal “how different groups of middle-class blacks make their identity choices.” In examining the process of identity construction for middle-class suburban blacks, she incorporates spatial analysis and the intersection of race and class in order to highlight intragroup divisions. In doing so, Lacy argues that the intersection of race and class influences the identity construction of the black middle-class in terms of how members “define themselves” and the distinctions they draw against others. Her attention to the cultural components of black middle-class identity and focus on this understudied group make her work successful, as it challenges…

James Baldwin’s short story “Sonny’s Blues” displays a lot of take to heart messages that we could learn from. Throughout this story we got a firsthand look at what a teenager’s life in Harlem looks like. It is told from the perspective of Sonny’s younger brother who is an algebra teacher in high school. Towards the beginning of the reading the narrator expresses concern about the root issue contributing to Sonny’s problems; Horse, otherwise known as Heroin. He states “I was sure that the first time Sonny had ever had horse, he couldn’t have been much older than these boys now”, (Baldwin 22). This sentence makes a wide-spread drug problem in their community evident. As any writer does Baldwin…

The book I am reviewing is called Matched by Ally Condie. Matched is a book which has an exiting futuristic theme. Matched is a book about a courageous, open minded girl named Cassia, a girl with two parents, a brother, and two best friends Xander and Em. In the book Cassia battles with society and not any type of society a new society. The society chooses everyone’s life they have chose that everyone should die at 80; they chose that there should only be 100 songs. Poetries, paintings ECT. In their city, the society chooses everyone’s job and food too, society chooses who gets marries to who at a special event called a match banquet. When Cassia finds out she has been matched with someone really close she starts developing strong feeling about him. But as soon as she sees another face pop up on her match’s microcard she starts having second thoughts. See who Cassia gets “matched” within this epic, love triangle, and risk taking story. Matched is a beautiful love triangle I would give 9 out of 10 to. I think the concept of the book was very unique and eye catching.…

Although following the love triangle between Mare, Cal, and Maven was interesting, the novel was very similar to many other dystopian books such as The Hunger Games and Divergent. In the book just as in many other dystopian books, there is an oppressed group of people being the ones with red blood and there is the minority powerful group being the ones with silver blood. The book did not give me an opportunity to learn new vocabulary words and was at a middle school reading level. Red Queen does not give valuable lessons, but rather repeatedly emphasises “anyone can betray anyone” (pg. 59) throughout the whole story. About halfway through the book, my interest lowered because I already could predict how the ending would play out. To me, predictable books are one of the worst qualities a book can contain. I did not feel a connection with the main characters and did not care as to what was going to happen to them. Usually, in a book I enjoy, I care when a character is killed or badly injured because the emotional connection developed to them. If Red Queen made me challenge my previous thoughts like Night and Romeo and Juliet it would have been a much more…
