Due to the fact that this is an autobiography and written in immense detail I find myself believing the author and his experiences. I do believe that to the author being a pilot was one of his proudest and most exhilarating time in his life, he has a very positive outlook on war, even when he speaks of the darker parts like the casualties he seems to see it as a part of their duty as pilots. Although, the one thing I do find hard to believe is the fact that everybody had such a lovely thrilling experience like him. In most cases when warriors speak of war they don’t talk of it with such excitement. From the fondness and thrill in which the writer speaks I can draw the conclusion that for one it is easier to kill your enemy when they are simply a machine not a living breathing figure in front of you. I can also see that the circumstances of a pilot where not luxurious, but not as tough and intense as a soldier's experience in the
