Summary Of Lost Poem By Stanley Moss
In the poem “Lost Poem” written by Stanley Moss is explaining a tragic time he had with his brother. He goes on to explain how he it had sadden him and hurt him on the inside. The many different events that he stated in the poem makes him remember all the good times that they have had. He tells us that they shared the same mom and when he died it pained him. In line 5 “His death pained me” stood out to be the theme of the poem because it shows the writers emotion for his brother. There were hard times that he had to face and he went through a lot when his brother died. Losing a brother is not something that you want to experience. On the other hand, in line 7 “he was an evergreen, a bristlecone like me” was put there to show symbolism between the two brothers. The word bristlecone means the two oldest living pine trees and that was one of the only things that he compared himself and his brother to. In my opinion, it is almost like he is saying that him and his brother are wise men and have been around for a very long time and they will be there for each other longest they live. He went on to explain that they have lived in all types of weather and have seen everything that mankind has to offer. In conclusion, the character really cares about his brother and is devastated that he died and now he is going through the pain and he is missing the good times with his brother.
