Summary Of Love In Brooklyn
Love can be a variety of things. Love means so many different things to different people. Love ranges from affection to pleasure. Love is an everlasting affection that a human being feels towards each other. In the poem “Love in Brooklyn “the author talks about two individuals who shared the same job and drink at a bar. The man tells the woman he loves her while he is blowing his nose. This leads readers wondering if this man is actually being sincere with the women. One may think of this act as distributing while others may think of it as disgusting. He tells her he saw her move up from job position. He compared her to a tank he saw during World War II. This poem leaves the reader questioning as to whether or not his love for the women

    Throughout the book, discussion about women amongst the men on the front line was a rarity. However, when they happened upon a poster with a beautiful woman pictured on it, feelings that they had before the war began flooded back to their memories. However, it is evident that they were not completely enlightened again by this small sample of female presence. This is evident in the initial response of the narrator, when he questioned how anyone could march in such shoes (referring to the high heel shoes worn by the model in the poster).
