Summary: Of Mice And Men
Rhetorical Terms Q2
There once was a boy named Jerks, he was a normal boy who did normal things normally. One day his mother momma Jerks wanted him to go to the market to buy a cow but when he got to town there were no cows to be seen anywhere. So Jerks being the smart young lad he was decided to trade the money for a “magic shovel” Jerks was obviously very happy with his trade because after all who wouldn't want a magic shovel? When Jerks got home he proudly held up the shovel to show his mother what he had gotten, however his mother was not as pleased as the boy was with the purchase, so logically she decided to make the boy go dig his own grave in the back yard. As Jerks dug he grew tired and went inside to get a drink of water. When Jerk

As Jerks fell he had time to think to himself “this was the best investment of my life!” Then he hit the bottom and everything turned black. When Jerks awoke he was laying on his back strapped to the floor with thousands of rubber bands all over his body. As he looked around he appeared to be inside of some sort of miniature town square. From the distance he heard a bunch of loud discussion and shouting coming towards him. Jerks craned his neck to get a look at the people and immediately noticed they were tiny! The tallest of them was no more than 5 inches tall and the shortest was less than 2. Jerks being terrified sat up snapping the rubber bands restraining him. The miniature people froze in place and became silent so Jerks decided to speak first “w-where am I?” Jerks managed to stutter. One of the miniature people clearly the leader stepped forward with a crown on his head and said in a squeaky voice “you tall one are in Cowsburg named from our founding father Mr. Cow. Why have you come to our land?” Jerks had no response to this question so he simply shrugged, but when he shrugged the whole crowd backed up and started yelling and screaming at Jerks asking why he …show more content…
Jerks not knowing what he had done was very confused and apologized to the miniature people for offending them. Jerks slowly got to his feet making sure not to step on any of the mini people. Jerks was as big as an elephant and the people were mice at his feet. with one step he could pass 8 city blocks and with one swipe of his hand he could level half of the city. Jerks had lived under his mothers strict hand for his entire life and now finally he held the power he could do anything he wanted and he was going to take advantage of the opportunity. Jerks announced to the people with a smirk “I have decided, I shall be the new ruler here! Anyone who disagrees can duel me for it” The people naturally were very offended especially the ruler who immediately stepped forth and demanded the newcomer leave at once and never come back. Before the king had even finished his sentence Jerks had picked him up knocked the crown from his head and thrown the king farther than any of the little people could see. the crowd fell silent. the square darkened. the sky filled with clouds overhead. “is there no one else?” Jerks boomed to the crowd. in response

J.W. Van Goethe once said “no two persons regard in the world in exactly the same way.” This means everybody has different views of the world and responds physically and mentally to different situations. I agree with this quote because we all have different perspectives and we often debate about the way we view society. In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck clearly shows how two persons are different in their own independent ways. The story of two migrant workers, George and Lennie run away from a farm in weed California because Lennie who freezes when he’s s cared, doesnt let go of a girls dress she panics and accuses him of rape. they try to make their dream come true of having their own house where they can live off the fat of the land. George and Lennie have to work at a ranch miles away from their preceding job, they meet the bosses son named Curly who has a short temper, and also meet a well-respected jerk line skinner who people look up to. Both men regard the world in different ways and both have different personalities that make them who they are.…

John Steinbeck’s novella Of Mice and Men chronicles the experiences of two unlikely friends Lennie and George, as they follow the path of life in pursuit of their own version of the American dream. Steinbeck incorporates thematic ideas that define dreams and what prevents them from being manifested, tensions concerning race and gender, and the significance of relationships within the story. Use of these thematic ideas amplify the strength of feeling throughout the story, and connects the reader with themes they can identify with.…

What can I help you with tonight?", asked the rotund man named Carl. His voice was nasally, and from my dad's facial expression I could tell he thought the same thing. His face was scrunched up like he had smelled something bad; he turned to me and said, "Does it look like I need any help?" I was not dumb enough to say anything to that, and apparently, neither was Carl. He slowly backed away from us until he got to the cash register, where an angry black woman started to wave a shoe in his face, saying,"These are NOT the shoes I ordered! I want a discount!" So, they aren't the shoes you ordered and you want them anyway? I literally have no words, and I always have a snarky comment stored away. Anyway, my dad looked like he was about to go on a warpath, so I decided to sit down. Meanwhile, my father decided to look at some shoes, and I started to make faces at the little Indian boy who was sitting beside me. For a moment, it seemed as if my dad had calmed down because he was carefully pursuing the shoe collection with a thoughtful, peaceful expression. Until the angry black woman accidently spilled her coffee on his…

Instead of bracing the dumpster, Smart Guy jumped out of the way as the dumpster and Dummy fell on their sides. It didn't slam down, it more lumbered over as a small mountain of food scraps covered Dummy. Smart guy looked up and down the alley, praying he wouldn't see a horde of maniacs at either, or both ends. “God Dammit,” Dummy growled as he tried to stand up. His feet slipped on the greasy scraps as he went down on his ass. Smart Guy couldn't help but laugh as he watched this poor slob wallow in the mounds of stinking garbage. As Dummy crawled out far enough away to gain his footing, he stood up and kicked at the trash.…
