¨He was shaking me and I wished he'd stop. ¨ (pg.6) is one of the quotes from the story ¨The Outsiders¨ proving that Ponyboy who is the main character of the story, is more sensitive than tough. Ponyboy is raised by his brothers who are pretty tough so he is expected to be the same. The quote up above shows that Ponyboy is sensitive because he was shaking and that is a sign of sensitivity and fear. With all of the evidence from the book, it has proved that Ponyboy is more sensitive than tough. Being more sensitive than tough isn't such a bad thing. ¨ He isn't dead. And this time my dreaming worked. I convinced myself that he wasn't dead.¨ (pg.128) says Ponyboy once he figured out that Johnny is dead. Ponyboy doesn't want to believe that

    The Outsiders, directed by Francis Ford Coppola was released in 1983. Ponyboy Curtis (C. Thomas Howell) is a greaser whose parents were killed in a car accident. He and his friends: Johnny (Ralph Macchio), Dally (Matt Dillon), Two-Bit (Emilio Estevez), and Steve (Tom Cruise), and brothers, Darry (Patrick Swayze) and Soda (Rob Lowe), are always getting in fights with a gang called the Socs.
