King believes we are all mentally ill by saying that we’ve all known people who have a certain kind of characteristic that can be found a little crazy. Why do we watch horror movies then? King starts with the first cause, which is: to show that we are not scared. He compares it to the thrill of a roller coaster; People ride roller coasters to prove that they have the courage to sit through it, just like horror movies. The second reason we go to watch horror movies is to reassure ourselves that we are normal. His last reason is that we go to have fun. We enjoy seeing others
