Summary Of The Four Foreign Policies
In the opinion editorial “The Four Foreign Policies” by Charles Krauthammer, he uses a humorous tone to start off the article with the following phrase, “If Kasich pulls off a miracle, and he’ll get his own column.” He mentions Kasich because he is explaining the final possible candidates and wants to clarify the unrealistic possibility Kasich has to still become president. However, there is a tonal shift from the humorous tone to a more serious tone when discussing foreign policies. Foreign policies from the different candidates like Trump and Clinton vary and with this Krauthammer utilizes a more serious tone because of the serious matter concerning the foreign policies and how they will influence who an American votes for president. Finally,
there is last tonal shift to humor when he says, “Don’t say you weren’t warned” to make people aware of the decision they will need to make about the fate of our country.
