When a person find someone to marry to it is usually because they feel love towards them. However, in some cases, love is not what drives the person to get married or after some time being married the person doesn't feel love for the other person they are with. This is similar to the story “The Jilting of Granny Weatherall” by Katherine Anne Porter’s, who is about a granny on her deathbed. All of the granny memories are floating again from the past. Especially, the memories of a guy who broke her heart, her husband who passed away and her family.     The first element to discus is theme. In “The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin the theme is the self-independence of women.
