I am a proud member of the John B. Alexander Magnet Program for Health and Sciences. As a member of this program,
I have gained knowledge and first-hand experience in the health care setting, and I have prepared myself by taking rigorous, health-related courses throughout my high school career. Specific courses I have taken to fulfill the requirements necessitated to graduate as a member of this program include: Principles of Health Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Dental Science, Scientific Research and Design, Pathophysiology, Medical Microbiology, and Medical Terminology. In addition, I completed the course Practicum of Health Science. This outstanding course enabled me to visit local clinics and hospitals to shadow and observe health professionals; I partook in firsthand patient care and surgical treatments. Being a member of this magnet program has been nothing more an advantageous aspect of my high school career; I hope to become a cosmetic surgeon in the future, and I believe this magnet program has greatly prepared me and put me one step closer to achieving my ultimate dream.
