Summary Of The Monkey's Paw By W. Jacobs
Every person in their life encounters problems they have to fix. In the short story The Monkey’s Paw by W.W. Jacobs, three characters, Mr. And Mrs.White and their son herbert experience a series of unnatural events that involves fate and a magic talisman, a monkey's paw. The use of the monkey’s paw grants only three wishes, which causes the family to suffer. In the short story The Monkey’s Paw by W.W. Jacobs, the author uses characterization to show human nature is inherently good.
To begin with, Sgt. Major Morris said to Mr.White, “ Fate ruled people's lives and that those who interfere with it did so to their sorrow” (Jacobs 93). “ I don’t know what to wish for, and that's a fact,” he said slowly. “It seems to me I've got all I want.”
