• Determine a strategy for addressing your employees concerns, building loyalty among your customers, and remaining competitive in a changing market.
Employee concerns:
-they must have open door policy.
-they must periodically meet with the employees, talk to them about their jobs, their concerns, expectations, etc.
-they must work on creating an environment of trust and appreciation among all employees, regardless of their position or title with the coffee shop.
-they must encourage employees to be creative, speak their mind when they have new idea that can improve the performance of the shop.

- Customer satisfaction surveys/feedback and ideas on how we can improve. Find out what customer’s like and dislike about their experiences. Encourage customers to provide feedback and ideas based on some type of reward system.

• Perform a detailed Porter's Five Forces analysis for The Broadway Cafe.
Buyer Power –If there is Low the population visiting the area is high, there are not many coffee shops around.
Supplier power - Suppliers are the bean suppliers, they still want to go and get stock from those who sold the same variety as in our grandpa's age.
Threat of substitutes - NC being a warmer place, there is always treat from substitutes like Soda and other cold drinks. There is Ihop and a few other gas stations close by.
Rivalry - They are in a relatively safe location, but the cafe should not run out of business because of the incompetency
Threat of new entrants - This area is attracting a lot of new shops. One of it can be a coffee shop. The probability is high.

Cost leadership- low cost coffee that appeal to large audience
Broad Differentiation Strategy- appeal to large audience but offers certain differentiation points.
Customer loyalty programs: Customers can be provided with cards that can either be swiped, scanned or have holes punched in them. Customers that take advantage of this will be provided perks such as free beverages, free upgrades to larger size cups, pastries, etc.
Customer database: Software can be instituted to provide management information based on demand, supply, and/or trends of the consumer. Systems can be put into place to monitor traffic in the store and turnover rates; also, information can be retrieved from the cash register in which managers can observe what products are being bought and what aren’t and act accordingly.
