Summary: The Class Divided

For years, it has been a known fact that race was and still is the biggest issue around. Society has grown upon how race is interpreted and the system of how they discriminated whites and blacks from being together. Society viewed people as different and makeup stereotypes for how African Americans act, dress, look, etc. Although the race has been one of the biggest issues, the role of how race is presented, shows that it has changed because since it evolved throughout the years, a lot of people still have that image of what black people view and what white people view. In the documentary, the teacher had white kids in her class and the kids had a sense of how discrimination works out. She had separated the students by having people with brown eyes be more discriminated while the kids with blue eyes have the benefits of having five extra minutes of recess and having their time being taught by the teacher instead of the kids with brown eyes. The teacher ended up switching up the role of students with brown eyes have all the advantages and the kids with blue eyes be discriminated. Later on, in that week, the students with blue eyes had felt like they had all the power and did things to make the brown-eyed students feel bad. The students learned that discriminating people that have a different skin color is not worth it because they had felt that same pressure of being unknown and feeling left out.
