When it comes to evaluating alternatives for Supherbs case study, the environmental element plays a very crucial role in making the next big decision. Because Supherb focuses on providing a high quality and environmentally friendly product, it is important to look at how this can result into a competitive advantage for the company. As stated in the case, Supherb has been eco-friendly since it first started growing plants and herbs. A great deal of money has been allocated to purchasing equipment that collects rainwater to prevent any city water chemicals from coming in contact with the product. It has also been a priority to eliminate the use of pesticides/herbicides, while also removing weeds by hand and removing pests in a natural way.

After searching “herbs near Milledgeville, GA.,” The Green Market has many farmers that sell anything from sustainably and locally produced veggies, fruits, meat, bread, and preserves/plants. (cite). This website also includes the farmers that participate in The Green Market: “Babe + Sage Farm, Forest Grove Farm, Fort Creek Farm, Rag + Frass Farm, Salamander Springs Farm, and Sparkleberry Market Garden. (cite). These are all alternatives to Supherb so it is very important that SupHerb offers a product that can compete. The list goes on and on because more and more people are choosing local foods. According to Fortune, it is projected that sales in 2019 for local foods will generate $20.2 billion dollars.
