Susan B Anthony Dares To Vote Analysis

In the text “ Don't Give Up The Fight and, “Susan B Anthony Dares To Vote” they both share the same theme of perseverance .both characters pushed around and mistreated because they were girls that wanted to be treated equal. In “Don’t Give Up The Fight, Ava is pushed around by the coach and the boy on her track team. Also the boys on her team and the coach tell her that she is not good enough to be on track team because she was a young woman . And in “Susan B Anthony Dares To Vote” she is pushed around by men that do not appreciate woman's qualities, people believed that women were nothing but to something that men owned. Although they are similar they have many differences, from each other by the risks they take and how they handle their problems that both characters face.

The theme perseverance is shown in the story and the article “Don't Give Up The Fight” in the passage Ava is a girl who is judged by her track team because she is a girl and the boys on her track team bully her because they make jokes about her also the boys push her around. But Ava is put down by,
boy’s and her coach that did not appreciate what she can do to help.Also the hard work and time she put into things.They are both share the theme perseverance to try and get through their problems even when it gets tough . And even Knowing she could be hurt or bullied more she still did it and that shows persistence. Even though it was tough and knowing that you would be judged for what gender she is or how athletic you are.

The theme perseverance is shown throughout the article by she continued to keep going and having the chance of being hurt or even killed, by a man because she was a women rallying up people and chanting.Back then they did not appreciate a woman's values and their importance was very low compared to men. This shows perseverance because even though she can be hurt or killed at any moment she is strong enough to keep going and push through and fight for what she felt was right.She even stood up to a male judge and proved herself to the jury and even though it was intimidating she backed herself up and got women's rights to vote by even taking the risks and dressing up like a man to vote and persevering through the tough times in her
life.

Although these passages are similar they are both different in many ways.Because in “Don't Give Up The Fight” and,“Susan B Anthony Darse To Vote” one character takes bigger risks on her life that is Susan B Anthony. Dressing up like a man to try to vote. While Ava is being bullied and not stopping it also she is holding her feelings inside her without telling her parents. Or a school advisor about it. Also she is not risking her life but her safety, and Ava has low self esteem, and she is doubting everything.Because she was doubting herself she began to lose faith in herself. Although Ava is going through being tormented and mistreated. Susan B Anthony is sent to trial and faces the jury and the judge to prove women's rights to vote, like march and to prove that every man and women are equal.In the text it states.”Weren’t women citizens of the United States? And if citizens could not be denied the right to vote,it seemed plain enough that women could not be denied that right”.this is saying that american citizen can not be denied the right to vote and women were citizens so they could not be denied the right as well.Also this could have turned into a horrific event. This shows that the two text pieces are similar and different.

In conclusion perseverance is shown differently between the two text by the measures of risks they take. ,“Susan B Anthony Darse To Vote” represented the text better because of the levels of risks she takes and how hard she works for her beliefs. The article represents the theme better,because in the text Susan B Anthony persevered through times even when she could have been beaten and or killed in the process.
