The Susan G Komen for the Cure charity undergoes several questionable practices and other underhanded maneuvers for the sake of themselves and not the cure.
A charities use of funds in a "Non-profit" organization, should be towards researching the cure. In the case of Susan G Komen, it was 20.9% research in 2009-2012. the other 79.1 % went towards administrative costs, fund-raising costs, and most importantly public heath education with a whopping 39.1% of all expenses that year. Now thats fine, but you have to realize that includes all other their advertising, such as the ribbons and other pink merchandise, which only 20.9% goes towards cancer research. The charity is less and less about the cure, and more about awareness of cancer. But awareness of cancer isn't going to get us anywhere. But not these pink products aren't on shelves to cure the disease, there there to make the "Non-Profit money".
