Suspense Story - Dangerous Encounters
Suspense story

Dangerous encounters,

I ran and I ran. Sweat pouring down my face. I could feel my heart thumping out of my chest. Whirl winds of emotions all round my body. Bumping into people their abuses faded away. Didn’t know whether her she was ok or not.
My little sister. I sat there cuddled her and asked if she was alright. She gave me a lukewarm response.
‘Yes I am alright but I don’t want to go on the bumper cars ever again’. I was so relived, that moment I felt as calm as the water of the rivers. I decided to go on a big roundabout. I stood waiting in the long queue breathing in the fresh air, admiring the smiley faces of the people on the ride. I didn’t even take notice until I had to be shouted at. Finally it was my turn; I looked to my right to see an aged man with such a creased face and eyes hanging so low that it looked like it was going to drop off. He gave me an awkward look that sent shivers up my spine before signalling that I should get on. As I sat, I had a strange feeling something was not right. I didn’t know what but I forced myself to be calm and enjoy. The same man came and I was strapped up with a metal bar. The ride began higher and higher. Suddenly...

I jerked, heard a squeak. The ride stopped…
I needed to scream but it was as if my lips were sewn up with needle and thread. I was stone. Worst of all I could feel myself tipping forward. I am now upside down. I held on firmly onto the bars I couldn’t let go, my life depended on my hands. Terror, thoughts, and emotions clashed together. I was too young to die.

Upside down my hands were slipping; I could hear peoples voices from down below but no use, all I could hear were mumbling. I shut my eyes trying to get a packed memory of my friends and family. Then I fell.
The next thing I knew was that there were machines beeping and I think people staring. I could only see a blurred vision of horses. I sat up in bed my family around

One foot forward, yet two steps back. The words, no, the screaming, echo off the walls in my head. Still, the faint touch of your body rips at my skin. My mind pleaded for help, for security, for shelter, but my heart insisted to stay. “We need to leave” it whispered, fearing he would hear us. “What if this is love” I called back. I ached in a silent cry for freedom. None of this was what I expected; none of this is what I wanted. Love did not equal confinement. It did not mean giving up on lifelong dreams, yet my body ached in defeat. The air was suffocating, but, nevertheless, I had to keep moving. Only God knows if I could get back up after yet another beating. Silence is not an option. These were the painful feelings that raced through…

I looked around and I wasn’t in my room anymore, I was in the hospital during my grandpa’s surgery. The waiting room was cold and sterile and the smell of antiseptic was so strong I could taste it. Waves of uneasiness washed over me as if they were trying to drown me. My grandma and my mother were sitting in the room with me and they looked just as scared. I remembered how long my grandpa was in surgery to get his windpipe removed, how I had thought that I wouldn’t make it through the hours he was and that if he didn’t then I wouldn’t make it for much longer afterward.…

CHAPTER NINE Troll Snatching I opened my eyes and two giant wart covered trolls who bore an eerie similarity to the creature that had haunted me in my nightmare were standing over me glaring down. Their red beady eyes were filled with detest and I screeched loud enough to wake the dead. One of the monsters stuck his hairy hideous hand over my mouth and the other sprinkled around some kind of teal colored magical dust. I breathed it in and I was under their spell. "Get up and get dressed boy!"…

My adolescent legs strain as I continue along the path aimlessly and my stomach rumbles in emptiness as I realise, I left without food. How can one think of such things at a time like that? I most certainly didn't. Just minutes before leaving for an awesome party one doesn’t remember to do a lot of things and now the only thing dwelling in my gut is the sore pain that was the increasing hate for the cruel beings that have abandoned me here. Lost in my thoughts, my melancholic walking pattern is disrupted as my foot catches on a thick branch in the deceptive darkness and I fall swiftly face first into a small jagged rock. Dazed, I lift myself up from the ground and dust myself off. My left eyelid closes automatically as blood rolls down the top of my face. Cursing, I wipe my face with my white sleeve, soaking the cotton a blackish red instantly. The shock disperses and pain sets in, sharp agony mixed with a strange tingling sensation on my forehead.…

Cursing, I wipe my face with my sleeve, soaking the cotton a blackish-red instantly. The shock dissipates and pain sets in, sharp agony mixed with a strange tingling sensation on my forehead. I forcedly push the pain to the back of my mind, and go to take my next step just as a small blue spherical object reflecting the moon catches my eye on the edge of the track. Interested, I walk over to it, and pick it up in my hands. After examining the dirt caked ball, images of my younger brother flash through my mind. Times spent together, kicking a ball in the backyard, taking him to his first movie, and then screams of pain, blood, oh god the blood is.... The ball drops to the ground as my hand trembles from the horrible images. I kick it far away off the trail in anger as Im reminded of the situation Im in. The smoky scent of a…

On the day of the funeral I sluggishly my purple turtle neck and gray pencil skirt. I remember thinking do I have to go. We finally arrived at the church which was the only thing in eye sight for miles. I stepped out the car and stumbled on the rocky gravel.…
