SWOT analysis of Adidas group

Adidas produces sportswear and sports equipment. A strong brand portfolio boost the market position and reinforce Adidas as one of the leaders on the sportswear and sports equipment market. But Adidas’ brand image is also under pressure from widespread counterfeits, which creates mistrust to the brand.

At the moment Adidas is the second largest player on the market just behind Nike.(note) When Adidas in 2005 merged with Reebok, they showed that they wanted to compete with US-based Nike on home ground. (Perhaps a curve to show growing market share in US? – If it exist) * With great focus on innovation, research and development Adidas seek continuous development of new products. –Adidas devotes many resources to create new technology and consumer insight to develop products that covers every demand a consumer would expect and beyond. The strong focus on R&D has allowed Adidas to keep the technological leadership in many of its product segments. * Adidas is increasing its effort towards the emerging economies, especially China is of great importance.(Look in annual report and state revenue growth , China/Asia.- make statement.) The have expanded their presence in China and other Asian markets. Furthermore they have used a lot of resources to establish presence in other markets to strengthen their position and visibility.(Number of this, to support)
