Some can be very quickly noticed others have to be looked for and may be harder to find. “The Divine Comedy” has many symbols that are used. One being Beatrice who sent Virgil to help Dante on this journey through Hell. Even though Beatrice is not mentioned in Canto XXXVI she still an important factor because of her will to love she choose Virgil who also is a symbol of true human qualities to help Dante through and out of this dark place. Life is a journey and there is always a decision to take the right and wrong path. One way will lead to Canto XXXIV a dark, cold, scary place. Or the right path will lead to light, warmth, and love. Dante was lucky enough to have Virgil there to encourage him along the way when he felt he could go no farther; “His exit from the world of suffering and sin is signaled by the bright light of the stars in the sky that he can finally see again: he has emerged again into clarity and the light of God’s love.” God is like Virgil the voice that says to push through.
