what is the meaning of a colored story? the answer is markus zusaks “the book thief” because of all of its imagery that is used. colors can be a great thing when someone is describing a sunset or a beach. it can be a good thing but they can also be a bad thing like when someone describes a concentration camp or a bloody war front. in the book thief it can be seen that colors are a big thing to all of the characters. liesel used the colors to remember max and rudy. when max was in the basement he used the colors to see the weather in the skies. although the book death (the person) uses colors to give him something to think about other things then dead people liesel describes a lot of thinfgs to others but one of the best was when she describes
death said “as ive been alluding to, my one saving grace is distraction.it keeps me sane. it helps me cope “(zusak 4). death used them to get his mind of of his job and those still living humans.death saw liesel the book thief many times in the story
"The last time I saw her was red. The sky was like soup, boiling and stirring. In some places it was burned. There were black crumbs and pepper, streaked across the redness" (zusak 12) in this death describes the sky at liesel's home after the bombs came down the black crumbs were buildings and people who were blown up into the sky the streaks were the ash floating up to the sky. for liesel and the others colors made the world literaly they all loved to see the colors some to distract, descride and to remember lost friends. liesel saw colors as a friend, death saw then as a distraction and max saw the sunset for the first time in a year. all because of a little orphan girl. the book thief was just another human to death untill they met and the story of colors began. one of there favorite things to see was the sky because it was always changing from reds and oranges to bright blues and fluffy
