Sympathetic Vibrations Narrative Report
On Friday, April 22nd, I attended Sympathetic Vibrations’ spring showcase at LeCraw Auditorium in Georgia Institute of Technology, because Caleb Wikle, a dear friend of mine is in Sympathetic Vibrations and he wanted me to go see him perform. Plus, I thought it would be interesting to watch them perform, because it was the first time I have ever attended a college choir performance, let alone, another choral performance other than my own. Sympathetic Vibrations is an all-male a cappella group founded in 1997 by James Clawson and usually holds an average of twelve to fifteen people. Their concert wasn't just any ordinary concert. They make you feel like you are a part of the experience and engages with the audience in a way you feel like you already know them and feel like you are having a conversation with a good friend. They made a video to promote their spring showcase and they introduced themselves and talked about each other, so that the viewers can get to know them. Every member seemed like they were proud to be a part of Sympathetic Vibrations. Every time they sing, they always say back and forth and do little dance moves, which added energy to their performances. They demonstrated great dynamics and each part had different times in which when they crescendo and decrescendo. I would give their performance a 9.5 out of 10 if I had to give a grade on their performance. Their performance was amazing and had a lot of enthusiasm, but I think they should have better choices of music because some of the songs are too mainstream and I think it would be cool for them to make original songs or cover songs that aren't as well known. Regardless, they did an incredible job performing their songs and making the audience pleased. I am already planning on trying to come to as many more of their concerts as I can, because I like them and plus, I want to support my friend, Caleb. Sympathetic Vibrations, you guys were
