Why are Teenagers so Lazy Today? The youth is the hope of the nation. That is the sentence that defines what the teenagers’ worth to the country is. We are supposed to change what the country is now. But the question is . . . Can we? From what I observed is happening now, instead of being the country’s biggest hope, we seem to be one of its burdens. There’s pre-marital sex, prostitution, juvenile delinquencies, and the list goes on and on. However, one of the biggest problems our teenagers are facing is . . . laziness. I, myself, as a teenager, admit that. And we all know that laziness is not an illness. Now what are the reasons why teenagers today are lazy? According to Sara Broers from her article Why are teens so lazy today?, one of the reasons why teens are “the advancements that have been made in our world of technology.” While according to Kathryn Hatter in her article Why are Teenagers Lazy?, “one common behavior that afflicts many adolescent is a lack of motivation”. Although both of their reasons are related, they refer to two different causes of laziness in teens.

1. According to Sara Broers “Our teens do struggle with pulling themselves off of the couch just as much as teens did twenty years ago,” said Broers. But in today’s world, there is much more to keep them sitting. Looking back twenty years ago, teenagers like us only had television to keep them sitting on their seats. But today, more and more types of technology improvements are happening. Now, we have our cell phones, computers, video gaming system and the internet. “Many say that teens have taken laziness to a whole new level due to our increasing use of technology.” 2. According to Kathryn Hatter Aside from the technologies that really helped in making our teenagers become lazy, there are also other reasons. From Kathryn Hatter’s article, lack of motivation is one of the reasons why. “While some

About 0.6 grams of the unknown was measured into the micro test tube. The analytical balance was set to zero again and then the test tube with the unknown was measured and recorded.…

The Internet has resulted in a generation of lazy young people. The Internet is a source used by everyone from the ages of 5 to 80; they use this source for entertainment, research and even to find a significant other, but due to the limitless possibilities of the Internet it has caused people to become lazy. For example when I was younger and I use to have to do math homework and I would just copy the whole problem from the Internet, after I failed a few tests I realized it wasn’t the smartest idea to copy from the internet anymore. The Internet is a resulting cause of laziness because of easy access, social networking, and no need to manually do things. The younger generation have a hard time going to the library to do research for a paper or project, because they feel as if they can go to Google and get the same amount of information if not more then they need. For example I never went into a library until I was in college, I realized how much more information there was in a library compared to just using Google and I also knew that the information was reliable. According to a survey conducted by Youth-Net, it was found that 75 percent of 16-to-24 year-olds feel that they couldn't live without the Internet. The report also found that 82 percent would look online for advice.…

Adoption is an extremely sensitive subject,(insert dash) especially for individuals who are Gay or Lesbian. There is much controversy on the topic. There are a variety of ways to which it isn’t possible for a couple to adopt. Infertility is becoming a greater problem in our time. In Gerald P. Mallon’s article, “Assessing Lesbian and Gay Prospective Foster and Adoptive Families: A Focus on the Home Study Process,” in 2007. He introduces a few different ways gay men and lesbian couples go about starting a family and mentions how the decision to adopt or become a foster parent for a child is a huge step in parenting. There are even more studies today that show, gay men and lesbians make good parents. In Scott Weber’s article, “Nursing Care of Families with Parents who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender,” he brings to attention, what the child may experience growing up in such circumstances. Some things a child may experience are teasing and sensitivity to being harassed. Both articles have valid arguments on the topic of gay men and lesbian headed families. Mallon argues how lesbians and gay men are potential parents for many children and youth who need permanent families while Webber argues children of non heterosexual couples are more likely to be teased and sensitive to being harassed.…

Other than suffering from CVS and hearing loss, teenagers will also experience emotional instability when they consume too much technology. Teenagers need approximately 9 hours of sleep daily, but they often text late into the night with their friends. With that being said, they are not able to focus well in school as well as cope with social pressure. Teens will also fail to separate themselves with parents and become independent thinkers, which happens to be a crucial development step for young adults. The blame can be put on cell phones. Besides that, social media sites prevent teens from facing solitude. This will cause loneliness…

It is easy to become addicted to gaming, texting, talking on the phone or socializing online. Some students may attempt to do this in class, which disrupts their learning, and at home it detracts from study time. Kids putting in long hours on their gadgets will give less attention to assignments and may be irritable when they are away from their gadgets. They might also sleep less, which can slow down their thinking the next day.…
