This activity helps me to understand myself better by knowing what people think of me. It aims to foster self-awareness and self-improvement. I found out that my family thinks that I am a responsible person in terms of sense of responsibility. But my brother thinks I’m immature. In terms of duties at home, my mother and father understand that I don’t perform my duties because I’m busy with my studies. My sister thinks it too but she justified that I perform when I’m not busy. When it comes to my studies, my family answered that I’m diligent and responsible in my studies that I comply all my requirement in school as what my mother wrote. They believe that I am emotionally strong person and I handle it well. Except with my brother, he answered that I am impatient. They said that I have very good social skills, that I deal and treat other people or every person I meet very well just like brothers and sisters. My mother and father said that Influence and perceive others to think and put it into action. While my sister said that I am tactful in expressing my thoughts. And my brother thinks that I’m considerate. When my brother and sister were asked if how I am as a sister, they answered “good” and “dependable sister”, respectively.
This activity does not only apply to my family, but also for external environment. I asked some of my friends to answer questions on how they perceive me in terms of physical appearance, how my feelings/mood affect them, how I socialize with them and how they are influenced or affected in my level of thinking. The last question was how am I as a friend. Most of them said that I am beautiful. Others answered that I’m charming, kind, attractive, cheerful, smiling and has average body and height. One said that I smile like Demi Lovato. I just found out that I’m well-organized and sexy. My aunt said that I am moody sometimes. My friends think the other way. They said that I’m a cool girl, that I can handle my emotions well, like,

    The Way We See Me

It is so interesting to read the different perceptions that my friends and husband see of me. For example, my husband had very similar results to mine because he lives with me and sees me everyday. He has known me for ten years now and it is reassuring that he knows me so well. The only thing that we both seem to entirely disagree on is how imaginative I am. He believes that I am only slightly as I think that I am extremely. I believe this is because my husband is a big talker and he likes to verbally express his ideas where I would rather put them down on paper. As for my two friends opinions, they are slightly different. The two of my friends are actually a couple who lives together. The one I have know for ten years, where as the other I’ve only know for two. Both seem to agree that I am not at all selfish but also extremely considerate of others. This makes me feel good, as I have stated previously that I always try to treat people with the utmost respect that I would want from others.…

When most people look at me, they don’t always see me. They see a girl. They see a quiet girl who is a big reader. They see a girl who is a hard worker and does well in school. They see the sister of three younger brothers. It’s true. I’m all of these things. I am also much, much more. I am mature in certain matters, and childish in others. I change my personality according to my surroundings, and do not show the world the real me. There are even some things that my family does not know about the real me.…

Compared to the technology we possessed before 1980, Our technology today is significantly more advanced and it is only the beginning. As the use of technology has increased dramatically in our everyday life many argue that it can be very useful, but others can say that technology only seems to be affecting the way Millennials think and process information. Mark Bauerlein is a prime example of this way of thinking, he declares that all of those under 30 years of age, also known as the Millennials, constitute the dumbest generation of modern history; and technology is the main culprit.…

Degeneration within the hippocampus has been shown to occur as humans get older. This area of the brain is important for learning and memory and as individuals age, there is a significant decrease in hippocampal size. Physical activity has been studied as a way to lessen this decline in hippocampal volume with the intention of brain neurogenesis and neuroplasticity. A non-sedentary lifestyle, specifically aerobic exercise has been associated with a greater amount of cells and greater hippocampal volume. This exploratory review will discuss findings from research, primarily using humans, rats or mice as subjects, showing the specific areas of the brain that physical exercise effects as well as the benefits it has on certain brain regions. These…

The synthesis of several complex organic compounds follows a multistep synthesis. "Multistep synthesis" refers to the procedure in which the product of one reaction serves as the starting material in the subsequent reaction. The multistep synthesis of benzilic acid begins with a conversion benzaldehyde to benzoin through a condensation reaction. The benzoin then oxidizes into benzil, which undergoes rearrangement to give benzilic acid.…

In the face of adversity, the beliefs of an individual may be greatly altered, or even liquidated, leading to the lack of execution or bad behavior. Even if a person with strong beliefs and morals is put into a difficult and unexpected situation, they may completely and unwillingly disregard their beliefs and morals and act accordingly, or not at all. Around lots of people, when bystander apathy or diffusion of responsibility is present, the individual may be affected by it as well. In Night, Elie knew that his father was “on the brink of death, and yet [he] still abandoned him” (Wiesel 11). Elie had prayed to the “God in whom [he] no longer believed” to never abandon his father, yet at such a difficult time, he simply did it (Wiesel 97). In the Perils of Obedience, the subject, Prozi, first “[refused] to take the responsibility” because the subject was in there “hollering” (Milgram 23). Immediately after the Experimenter said that he was “responsible for anything that happens to him”, the Prozi simply said “all right” (Milgram 23). This proves that the majority of people in a difficult situation will simply wait for somebody else to take responsibility for any wrong doings, or lack of action at all. If the experimenter remained silent, Prozi would have immediately stopped, knowing all responsibility lay on him. In the face of adversity, anyone’s beliefs can be changed, either because the individual is dumbfounded and doesn’t know what to do, or because they know that the responsibility of something horrid, is not…

In my freshman year in high school, Mr. Mehta, the Head of the English department, made some changes to our school’s English curriculum. One of these changes included introducing the fifth book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, to our reading list. Mr. Mehta’s simple action attracted more attention than ever before! While students lauded his decision, most parents questioned this change as they felt that the Harry Potter books did not belong in academia. Several agitated parents were so appalled by Mr. Mehta’s actions that they even tried to revoke his decision by appealing to the principal. But, after much deliberation, the principal successfully dismissed the…
