Sports were established so that the individual could not only exercise, but also to compete against a rival. Just as there are individual sports, there are team sports in high school. One reason high school sports aren’t beneficial is because they create a lot of pressure. According to the video “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” by KCRA, sports are sometimes the only way students can get into a good college and be able afford it. This fact is important because it proves, when parents put pressure on their children it does not benefit them, in fact it is actually setting them up for life in an unhealthy way. This shows that the pressure from sports is not good and not worth it.…

Many people do not realize the importance of high school sports; let me tell a story. There were two completely different kids that went to the same high school. One of them participated in high school sports from Fall to Spring. This kid kept up with his grades and kept busy with sports and homework. The other kid did not participate in any kind of school sports. The kid who didn’t play any sports went home after school every day, so instead of playing sports or doing homework in the free time available, he had to find something else to keep busy. 2). Sports are very important for teens to be a part of because exercise is essential, especially at these particular age ranges of the high school years. Many teenagers do not get enough exercise in their life. In fact, sixteen percent of teens are overweight, and 13.9 % are obese (Study of High, para. 1). Students cannot just cut sports out of their life due to limited times to be involved in non educational activities because it is truly something very beneficial to teens. This causes even more difficulties for students when they are athletes because it is even less time for homework, family, and sleep, and especially causes more stress. Sports Are an Important Part of High School Life"Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all." Sam Ewig explains the way many people react to hard work. These habits begin to appear in many of our lives when we are young and introduced to sports such as soccer and football which challenge our physical and mental abilities. Every teenager has a sport that fits him and his personality. For instance, if a teen were the quiet, not so active type, then maybe golf would be a good sport for him. If there is an active, competitive, and more talkative teen, then football may be the perfect sport. Every sport betters anyone in or out of high school physically and mentally. Playing a high school sport betters teens all around inside and out. High School sports benefit students by helping them do well in school as well as helping them "fit in", they also benefit the community.…
