Americans could imagine it as a postmodern apocalypse. Mooney (2014) states that as of September 2014, almost nine and half million people have been forced to leave Syria due to the conflict within. That does not include nearly six and a half million people displaced within the country. Displacement is when a population is forced out of their homes due to whatever reason, and have to find new territory to inhabit. The war has been so bad on the citizens that they are moving out of the country to find safety. They do not think they are safe anymore. No one should feel forced to leave their home country to keep their life out of danger. Most people who live in Syria, live their lives day by day unknowing of what will come next. The protesters did not agree with what President Bashar was preaching. He realized something had to be done about these people protesting against his word. Bashar officially started the war by taking things too far; he thought the necessary means to get them to stop would be the kidnapping, torturing, and the killing of protesters by the hands of the government. This only angered the protesters even more. Government troops were not happy with the protesters response so they decided to arm themselves and show them what they were really capable of by opening fire on the unarmed protesters. The protesters caught the government by surprise and fired back in response. When the protesters started firing back at the regime, they thought it would be a good idea to band together and form rebel legions. Over the past 4 years as the war has gone on, many more sides have joined the fight. The regime and rebels each have more allies. A new
