1. The roles of the teacher and the learning support practitioner are different in that the teacher is responsible for monitoring and assessing the pupils achievement and need to know how much the children have progressed and report back to the parents/carers and other teachers i.e.: the head and heads of year/subject leaders. Teachers will plan lessons with clear outcomes that the learner’s progress can be measured against. The role of the learning practitioner is to support the teacher/ children in achieving this. The benefits and importance of assessment for learning are that children feel empowered to improve their performance. This builds their self-esteem and gives them ownership of their learning.
